Im zarten Alter von ca. 35 Jahren entdeckte ich das fotografieren. Es begann mit einer Olympus C 2020 Z, die dann einer Sony F828 wich mit der ich ca. 4 Jahre mein Unwesen trieb. Nach ca. drei Jahren mit der "Black Beauty" überkam mich der unwiderstehliche Drang nach einer DSLR Kamera, da ich die Möglichkeiten der "Kompakten" schon ne ganze Weile ausgereizt hatte und nach "Mehr" strebte. Es dauerte noch über ein Jahr, bis ich dann an eine Kamera der Alpha Serie von Sony geriet und seit dem hat mich der "Virus Photographicus" voll erwischt, erst mit einer A200 und dann mit der A700, seitdem vergeht kaum ein Tag an dem ich die Kamera nicht in den Händen habe.

Zunächst habe ich "Street" und "Architektur" gemacht, aber nachdem mir immer mehr Leute was von Bildrechten und "darfst du nicht" erzählten, wollte ich mich nur noch um Wildlife & Macro kümmern und tat dies auch eine ganze Weile. Nach einiger Zeit wurde mir aber bewusst, daß ich mal wieder klare Linien im Sucher haben musste und ich ging erneut auf "Citypirsch".

Für mich hat sich innerhalb des letzten Jahres rauskristallisiert, daß ich mich nicht festlegen will, sondern das fotografiere worauf ich gerade Lust habe. Ich versuche oft durch ungewöhnliche Perspektiven "banalen" Motiven eine völlig andere Optik zu verleihen als man es normalerweise sieht. Ich habe noch einige Ideen die ich umsetzen will und fast ständig kommen neue dazu, so daß es wohl nie einen "Stillstand" geben wird mit meiner Fotografie.

I discovered photography at the tender age of 35, and my first camera was the Olympus C 2020 Z. This was replaced by a Sony F828, which accompanied me everywhere for 4 years. After three years walking around and taking pictures with the "Black Beauty" I had the urge to acquire a DSLR Camera. I felt I had outgrown the potential of the compact camera and needed a new challenge. About a year later I came across the Alpha Series from Sony and became seriously infected by "Virus Photographicus"; first with the A200 followed by a A700. Since succumbing to this disease, hardly a day passes without me using my camera.

I started with Street and Architecture photography, but after learning more about digital copyright, I changed my preferences to Wildlife and Macro. After a while I became aware that I preferred straight lines in images and I went photo hunting in the city again.

During the past year it has become clear to me that I don´t want commit myself to a single photographic genre. I want to capture different ideas and moods that take my fancy at the moment. So I try to use unusual perspectives to give otherwise trivial scenes a totally different appearance. With a steady stream of new creative ideas I hope to prevent my 'photographic mind' from shutting down.
